♬ Days be Done
Days be Done
Day is done, away the sun
From the desert streets and sky
By the fall, the bones will rest
And allow the restless souls to lie
Dusty days and storms in sight
Heaven’s full, dead birds in flight
Shades in pain hail dark rains
Or is it just the night?
Days are dulled, as the crows are culled
How the belly of that beast did churn
Inside the decay its skin turns gray
From the Door it will never return
The day is gone, take heed the dawn
It’s hungry now, there’s nowhere to run
The bleeding sons, shut their eyes
Beware the lyrebird’s lies
Dead days bring, the sparrow sings
Unable to fly, they’ve clipped his wings
By the dying brood, unrest and unruly
Have cracked the veil so cruelly
Days of dread, the blackbird said
His sorrow even wakes the dead
Centuries passed, he walks the earth
Without love, is his life worth
Our time is done, goodbye white sun
Last whippoorwill across that sky
But do not fear, though dead are here
For those who live will help you die
Days are gone by the dead bird’s dawn
The world will stop but spin once slain
Beyond the pale is the shadow’s thin veil
Where the dead no longer feel pain
And the dead will sleep again
